My all time favorite malayalam movie is Manichithrathazhu.

It has everything a great movie needs:

great cast-everyone is great
unforgetable scenes-when mohanlal comes in
wonderful songs-pazhamthamipaatu, oru murai vanth
Mindblowing plot
suspense
horror
great dance
great direction
and so much more

The GODFATHER is also good. My second choice

i liked 'thaniyavarthanam' considering artistic value of it . ' kireedom ' is also very nice. apart frm that i like 'kilukkam' , ' summer in bethlehem' etc.

My favourite movies in malayalam

1. kamaladhalam _ super acting of mohan lal, nice songs.
2. Pakshe _ lal's acting, good direction of mohan.
3.valyettan _ good family entertainer

Valyettan ile casting (mammooty, siddique, vijayakumar,sudheesh, manoj like bros) was cool....
The movie was an entertainer eventhough some scenes were super 'Katthi'. Its a one time watch.
Kamaladalam and Pakshe were gud ones.

valyiettan was ok but one my favorite malayalam movie is Godfather...who can forget that classic plot. that was what started the trend of feuding families and one person falling in love with a member of the rival family..it's been tried to be duplicated but to no avail. yeah manichitrathazu is good but of the recent movies i would have to say that i liked kunjikoonan and runway. and my ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE that will always be top on my list would have to be the CBI trilogy starrign mammooty, mukhesh, jagathy and etc. in order from favorite of the three.
1. CDI Diary Kurippu (first one is always best)
2. SethuramIyar CBI (modern visuals and plot)
3. CBI 2--jagratha (the second one was too similar to the first).
