K.G. George

for awesome films such as:
Swapnadanam
Kolangal
Yavanika (grt acting by Bharat Gopi, and an excellent thriller)
Lekhayude Marnam: Oru Flashback
Adaminte Variyellu
Panchavadi Palam (hilarious flick!)
Irakal

I also like Padmarajan, Sreenivasan (though he has done only 2 films),
Bharathan, Shyamprasad, G Aravindan, John Abraham, TV Chandran,
Lal Jose, and Priyan (in terms of the technical aspects of a film he is a grt filmmaker)

See Saroj,
Priyan can do all types of films, let it be a comedy, sentimental, action, classic . Whatever it may be, it will become a hit.

Can you tell me any atleast one director's name who can do all these type of films.
Bharathan is a good director, but he can do only typical bharathan movies. We can never expect a different type of film from him...

Abhimanyu & Aryan are action films of Priyan.
At the same time he had done comedy films like Kilukkam and serious film like Kalapani.

Ini fill cheyyunnathu

I can fill the space by Thalavattom, Chitram, Kilukkam.....

I guess you haven't watched too much of Bharathan's work.
wow! what do you mean by "typical Bharathan films"...haha...you created a new genre yourself...

Have you seen his films such as Thazhvaram or Thevar Magan ?
How about Ormakkayi, Marmaram, Pranamam, Chilampu, Vaishali, Malootty, Ozhivukalam, or Lorry ?
He has made films in different genres.
I'm pretty sure even Priyan would admit he hasn't surpassed Bharathan as a filmmaker.

I like Priyan, and I heard his latest film Kanchivaram is excellent, its not the "typical Priyadarshan film" either.

and btw, there is no such genre called "classic".
Here is a definition:
"Classic films are often distinguished or unique works of cinema that have transcended time and trends, with indefinable quality. Classic films are often universal favorites that hold up after repeated rescreenings. "

Every year or so, I try to do something; it keeps me refreshed as to what''''s going on in front of the lens, and I understand what the actor is going through.

There are many mediocre directors in Malayalam who survive
because of a decent script.
I would also like to add Sibi Malayil to the list...
and I'm pretty sure there are many more.

I haven't watched any of his Hindi remakes.
Though I did see a scene of Hera Pheri in youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQbLydvTURs

Priyan had done a better job than Siddique and Lal in those scenes.
I'm not talking about the acting or dialogues but the direction (mise-en-scène).

Priyan is a competent filmmaker, I think he's doing this for $$$ and fame.

Recently saw his Abhimanyu, visually stunning!

Trailer to his latest film which came to Toronto
