More bad news for Jayaram fans. His films are getting from bad to worse. They have the same hackneyed storyline, scenes and look the same with nothing new in it. And to put it mildly, Jayaram should stop getting saddled with such asinine and dumb roles.
Anchil Oraal Arjunan is no different from the so many other listless boring Jayaram films we have seen recently. Anil of the earlier Anil-Babu team along with script writer T.A Razak has borrowed scenes from half-a-dozen earlier films of Mammooty and Jayaram himself and stitched together the script of this stupid film.
Sudheendran ( Jayaram ) is a middle-class hard-working guy who makes a living teaching in tutorial classes and acting in theatrical plays. He is a member of the Ilanjickal family which is now facing bad times. Sudhi has a large family to look after- mother, two aunts and two sisters! Sudheendran's benevolent benefactor is Kovilakam Sreedharan (Sreenivasan) who runs the drama troupe and tutorial.
And there this girl Pavitra (Padmapriya ) who acts in his plays who is madly in love with him. Paul (Jagathy) a moneylender is after him and he lives in Sudhi's attic as he is not able to pay his debt.
Later his childhood sweetheart Dr Saraswati( Samvrutha) comes from Delhi to start a hospital and Sudhi helps her, which causes misunderstandings with Pavitra. Meanwhile he has a battalion of enemies, mainly his cousins Vijayan( Siddique) and Vinayan (Madhu Warriar) along with uncle's and others who are after his family house!
Wanna hear more; see more? No way. By the time the film has strayed into its last scene, you are past caring about Sudheendran and his problems. And finally will Jayaram, a fine actor who has given Malayalees some excellent films choose his films with more discretion in future?
Verdict : Avoidable
