Dashavatharam - Couldnt meet Expectations
The movies concept is based on Chaos theory of dynamic systems or better known as the "Butterfly effect" (Small variations of the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system :WIKIPEDIA)... for example if u time travel to some 1 crore year bak and accidently stamped on a cocroach: u just changed the whole evolution process..
The bottom line is: Everything happens for good
The movie start with a 12th century scene, which i blv the most elegantly picturized part of the movie... from there we go directly to US, then to japan, india etc... some 6 or 7 stories are running in parallel... (Remember the movie BABEL) ... in the end u will get the connections b/w these stories
U can also see the dreadful tsunami hits on chennai which is also a remarkable scene.
Kamal's make up and efforts put on each "avatharam" is absolutely stunning .. for each character he maintains separate voice, body language, mannerisms etc... roles of RAW officer balram naidu and CIA agent are remarkable ...
The movie had a nice start ... goes smooth in the first half with a cracking pace and maintains the speed for 3 more hrs(drags a bit here and there)... the jokes in the movie are pathetic especially scenes including Asin ... Songs are really nice to hear in Dolby dts ...
I think the movie lacks focus ... or the focus had a shift from good screen play to Kamal's make-up ... Kamal could have selected a better director for the movie and some scenes challenge your logic too ...
I dont want to comment about all the characters... just try to see the movie in a DTS theatre ... otherwise im affraid u wont be liking it

I kind of like movies like "Babel" and "Crash" with those wacky editing and those connections at the end.

review enikku review cheyyan samayam kittiyilla.. mothathil ulla adukkum chittayum vannillaa ... The only part i liked in this movie was the concept ...
Njan viswasikkunna chila karyangal satyamennu parayunna oru movie natural aayi enikku pidikkumallo
movie oru pravashyam kanan kollam ketto ... like we watched annyan, shivaji
... etc.. 2-3 pravashyam okke kanunna pahayanmaar ividem ond ... but palarum ennodu paranje sharikku manassilavanjittanennaa
