National award winner Vikram?s next film Anniyan directed by Shankar and produced by ?Oscar? Ravichandran has been insured with United India Insurance for Rs 29 Crore!
This is the largest insurance cover extended to any south Indian film and only Aamir Khan?s The Rising produced by Bobby Bedi has bigger insurance cover than Anniyan.(Rs 33 crores)!!!
The insurance has been covered under different sections including key stars, sets, wardrobe, properties, film stock, re-erection of sets, shooting delays and public liability. And as per the insurance cover, Anniyan should be released on January 14 2005 for Pongal.
Says Producer ?Oscar? Ravichandran: ?Nearly 80 percent of the film is complete and two songs are picturised in Amsterdam and the remaining three songs will be shot in the coming days. I am extremely happy with the way the film is shaping out as the shooting is progressing very meticulously like the Hollywood way?.
Anniyan was the first film in Tamil to get an IDBI film financing to the tune of Rs 8.50 Crore!
