Ramgopal Verma is planning to make a film on Veerappan. Many films in Tamil, including ‘Captain Prabhakaran’ and ‘Asuran’ were made about Veerappan who is still absconding from both Tamilnadu and Karnataka police. Some films in Kannada too have been made about him.
Now, Ramgopal Verma is going to produce and write the screenplay for ‘Let’s Catch Veerappan’. Shameed Amin is going to direct it. The film is based on the chapter ‘The Grand Plan’ from journalist Sunat Raghuram’s book titled ‘Veerappan- The Untold Story’.
Two young men come to know that someone is supplying food for Veerappan. They decide to follow him and capture Veerappan and claim the reward. That is the story of ‘The Grand Plan’.
Ramgopal Verma is writing the screenplay for this chapter. The film is also going to feature Veerappan’s attack of the Ramapuram Police Station and the subsequent killing of five people.
The film’s shooting begins in the month of August.
