Ajit who claims to have given up his passion for motor sports and race track is now desperately trying to stage a comeback into mainstream commercial cinema. Some of his recent media statements have amazed his rivals who had written him off.

Recently he told a Tamil film magazine- �I will become the number one in Tamil cinema! � Ajit has been blowing his trumpet after two disasters at the box-office. Distributors are no longer keen to buy his films as Anjaneya and Jana did not get a good opening and theatres which paid an MG for it had burned their fingers.

Now Ajit has dumped Lingusamy�s Ji and is concentrating on Saran�s Attagasam to bring it forward as his Diwali release. Ajit- Saran combination has worked earlier and they hope to re-create the old magic.

Ajit has to take up the responsibility of his career going downhill, as he was on par with competitors like Vikram and Vijay who have since zoomed past him in the superstar race.
