It looks like Shobana is going to do more films in Malayalam after Mambazhakalam was declared a hit. She is the heroine in director Jayaraj�s Makal, an off-beat film in which she plays the role of Killeri, a mad woman. She roams in the streets and footpaths and unknowingly becomes pregnant and gives birth to a lovely baby girl Manasi .
Suresh Gopi plays the role of Dr Warrier, a good human being who nurses Killeri back to normal life. The film is shot in and around Kannur and it is after eight years that Suresh Gopi and Shobana are paired together.

The film is based on a feature written by well-known photographer Rajan Poduval and script is by Madambu Kunjikuttan. The music director is by Ramesh Naryanan while M J Radhakrishnan handles the camera.

The cast also has Unni Shivpal, C P Rajasekharan, Vavachan, Asif Khan, Vinayakan, Manga Mahesh, Valsala Menon, Shalu Menon, Poornima and many others. Most of the scenes of the film were shot in Kuthiralayam near Kannur.
