It is the season of young directors, who are sweeping to success in Kollywood. One of the younger crop, thanks to his successful debut venture Kadal Kondein has caught the attention of one and all. Selvaraghavan, son of noted producer-director Kasthoori Raja and brother of actor Dhanush, is a man of few words, but he lets the megaphone do the talking.

Emerging from his father's foot steps, Selvaraghavan proved his mettle, penning the script for Thulluvatho Illamai, which introduced Dhanush to the big screen. He continued it with his directorial debut Kadhal Kondein, again with Dhanush in the lead role. The success resulted in several offers coming his way. He seems to have emerged out of his father's shadow and is currently directing a movie for A M Rathnam's Sri Surya Movies. The movie is titled 7G Rainbow Colony and incidentally after succeeding in establishing his brother as a popular actor, he is trying the same with Rathnam's son Ravi Krishna. The movie has Sonia Agarwal as the heroine opposite Ravi Krishna. It is said that the film is based on some real life incidents that took place in KK Nagar. Apart from Ravikrishna and Sonia Agarwal, pop star Shalini and Vijayan are also in the cast. The music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Arvind Krishna. The story's ad campaign itself has led to controversy. The movie is made in Telugu also.
