Ajith's Deepavali release is Attagaasam where he plays a dual role and the last film he has committed to is Mirattal which is scheduled for release in January 2005. It has been rumored that Mirattal has the flavor of Minority Report Story which has been rigorously modified to suite Tamil audience.Based on a Philip K. Dick short story, Minority Report is about a cop in the future working in a division of the police department that arrests killers before they commit the crimes courtesy of some future viewing technology. Cruise's character has the tables turned on him when he is accused of a future crime and must find out what brought it about and stop it before it can happen
According to the director, "Mirattal is the story of a man with a fair complexion and Ajith fits the role perfectly". It is believed that this story was first narrated to Vikram and since Murugadass was not in a mood to compromise on the changes made by the hero, his next choice was Ajith. It is said Murugadass is concentrating on writing a flawless screen play which will mesmerize the audience.
