Australian pop star Kylie Minogue announced that she has breast cancer, saying in a written statement that she’s postponing a tour of Australia to seek treatment.
Minogue “Showgirl Tour” was to open Thursday in Australia before performances in Asia and a headlining act at Glastonbury, Europe’s biggest music festival, at the end of June.
The singer was also due to hold concerts in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Minogue’s management company said that the 36-year-old’s diagnosis was confirmed this week during a visit to the southern Australian city of Melbourne, her hometown.
“Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week prior to her Australian Showgirl Tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” the statement said. “She will undergo immediate treatment and consequently her Australian tour will not be able to proceed as planned,” it said.
In the statement, Minogue said: “I was so looking forward to bringing the Showgirl tour to Australian audiences, and am sorry to have to disappoint my fans. Nevertheless, hopefully all will work out fine and I’ll be back with you all again soon.”
The Showgirl Tour was to have included performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth over the next month.

eeyedel endeyum oru valere close friend brain tumour vannu marichu poyi. aval 8 months pregnant aayirunu. they saved the baby. so she left behind her husband, a two year old and a new born baby.
cancer is quite widespread. seems to be affecting everyone. kylie de post cheythethe because she's a public figure, alaathe not because others are not important. just that most people know her.
