Suresh Gopi and Renji Panikar- two lions that critics thought to have lost their claws to old age have just bounced back and given a mighty blow that has shattered many a critic’s head. Yes! They are back. Back to where they belong.
It will be least dramatic if one says that 55 bombs just exploded all over the theaters in kerala on 4th August. In fact within a day of its release the film ‘Barathchandran I P S’ has created shock waves that is beyond any atom bomb. Word is spreading like wild fire and people who bad mouthed this film before its release is finding it hard to digest. Last time we saw such euphoria was when ‘Narasimham’ was released.
Almost every couple of minutes there will be thunderous applauds (must add that when Madhu Warrior was around there were booing). It seems as though people were longing to see such a film that they can relate to contemporary happenings. No one will believe that it is only 2hrs 10min long as every frame is spectacular. With this film Renji Panikar once again proved that he is the best ‘punch’ dialogue writer. As for Suresh Gopi- no other actor could have done this role to such believable scale.
Within no time this could be right up there with the box-office Badshah’s of all times as it got all those big important theaters (all thanks to Lal creations- the distributor) and as the film is short, there is five shows a day.
P.S: here is the answer to the million dollar question- he does mouth the famous “Just remember that” dialogue just before the interval but there is no “Shit” and “Oormayundo Ee Mugham”.
