Actress Pooja has come forward to take care of all the educational expenses of a girl child.

Pooja and a few other celebrities had recently agreed to sponsor expenses of orphans and kids living below poverty line. The program was organized by World Vision. Pooja says that she found the child on Worldvision's website. Soumya is the name of the girl child.

Pooja has also appeared in some endorsement films for the charity organization. About sponsoring the child, she said, “It helps me engage in a social cause. This small gesture satisfies my conscience and gives me peace.” Other well-known celebrities who have agreed to sponsor the expenses of children are tennis star Mahesh Bhupati and CNN-IBN's editor-in-chief Rajdeep Sardesai.
