PostPosted: Wed May 02, 2007 2:33 pm    Post subject: Vishu films collect big

The five films released this Vishu are all set to becoming good earners, as every films are making their distribution departments happy. The biggest collections, as for now is registered by Chotta Mumbai, the Mohanlal starrer, which has made a share of 2.24 crore in a matter of 21 days.

The film which was completed in a budget of 3.10 crores will have to find another 1.6 crore as share, to break even. But as the film is steady in collections in at least 24 major centers and is registering fifty percent in the remaining centers, the film will bring in profits before it reaches a fifty day mark. And for a Lal film, who made a fantastic opening that is sure to happen.

Vinodayathra is the winner of this Vishu in all terms, as the film has already grossed 1.8 crore from its three weeks run. The film which was completed in a moderate budget just above 2.3 crore will make the distributors happy from next week itself. His film has long queue of families in all major centers and reservations for the next few days for the upper class are already completed.

The film is expected to make a profit of 1.2 crore from its fifty day run. The producer M M Hamsa, under the banner of Kalasangham, who has always been associated with big hits like Parakkum Thalika and Meesa Maadhavan, has again recreated his magic of being with safe earners.

Mammootty's Big B was completed in a normal budget of 2.5 crore, even though the film appears to be more glitzy and packed than the said costs. The film has collected 1.52 crore in its run of 14 days. Even though family crowd has started pouring in the major stations that is not the same in all the centers. The film is making good mouth publicity but more of it is not converted into bigger collections due to the marketing mismatch. The film will turn into a hit if it goes steadily in at least sixty percent in around 25 centers, for another four weeks. The collections of the present week will be more crucial for the film's success.

Naren's 'Pandhayakozhy' may appear to be a bleak matter to onlookers, but the film is sure to break even in a matter of three more weeks. The film was completed just above a crore, and will find the returns soon. The film is registering seventy percent collection in major centers.

Vinayan's Athisayan has finally started to invite its real target audience. The film is showing twenty percent more audience support in the second week and has collected 98 lakhs in fifteen days. If the film survives to find audience in more than 15 major centers in its sixty days run, the film will break even and make producers happy.

These films in the centers will have a honeymoon period not more than ten days from now, as Kamal's ‘Goal’ and Suresh Gopi's time are poised to reach the stations by May 11.This will pose a serious threat to many films including that of Superstars. May 12 will thus finalize who has become the real first in the race for the Vishu winner.

Even though, this is the case, this Vishu will be one of the dearest filmy seasons to remember as the arrived films were different in their contents and presentations. Moreover, except Athisayan every other movie is definite to break even within weeks. And Athisayan may also become a winner, if it manages to become a rage among children audience.
