"I just want peace" - Meera Jasmine

Meera Jasmine broke down and wept during a press conference held in Kerala yesterday. "It is true that there are problems in my family. All I want to do is act in good roles," she cried.

A function was arranged to honor Meera Jasmine for her winning the National Award this year. The Chief Minister of the state had turned up at the function and presented her with an award. After receiving the award, Meera Jasmine began speaking to the gathering. That was when she wept.

For some days now, Meera Jasmine is living away from her family. She had filed a case against her parents and sister accusing them of swindling her money away. Police have taken the case up for investigation.

From the time she made her debut in films, there have been rumors that Meera was having an affair with Lohidas. Right now, the rumors have intensified. There are talks that she had eloped with the director.

In her tearful speech, Meera denied these rumors and blamed her parents of spreading it. Her parents claim that director Lohitdas was the one who was motivating her to break away from the family so he could talk her into investing the money for a new film in Tamil.

"My family did treat me like the goose that laid golden eggs. They are also responsible for spreading rumors about director Lohidas and me. All I want to do is to act in good roles and be a popular actress," she said, amidst tears.
