Kilukkam Kilukilukkam directed by Sandhya Mohan marketed as a sequel to Priyadarsans comedy classic Kilukkam is turning out to be a big hit in Kerala.
The film which released with 43 prints has taken a distributors share of approximately Rs 1.10 Crore in 10 days which is very good for a small film. Critics had torn the film to bits and the audiences were booing in theatres, but the film is drawing family crowds due to its title value and Mohanlals special appearance.
Says a theatre owner: Children below 10 years like the comedy antics of Kavya, Kunchakko Boban, Jayasurya and the comedy brigade. They are the people who are encouraging the film. Moreover Kilukkam Kilukilukkam is promoted with Mohanlals posters, though he appears only in the last 15 minutes of the film.
The message is loud and clear- There is still an audience for crass comedy in Kerala.
Real shame on malayali audience. Nammude prekshakar ithrayum athapathichallo. kashtham.
